How to play

Three simple rules and pure logic. Every cat you place tells you where the next one cannot go.

  1. Rule a cell out

    Tap a cell to cross it out with a pencil mark.

  2. Place a cat

    Double-tap a cell to seat a cat there.

  3. Mind the rules

    One cat in every row, every column and every colour, and no two cats touching, not even at a corner.

  4. Follow the chain

    When a row, a column or a colour has only one cell left, the cat must go there, and every cat rules out more cells.

Hints that explain the step

Stuck? A hint never just reveals a cat. It marks the cell and tells you why: “Row 9 has only one cell left, so the cat must go here.”

From cosy 5x5 to tricky 9x9

Boards start small and gentle, then grow into big grids where every cat you place sets off a chain of deductions.

Every board can be solved by reasoning alone, so you never need to guess.

Is Cat Puzzle free?
Yes. Cat Puzzle is free to play and shows ads. There are no in-app purchases.
Will I ever have to guess?
No. Every board can be solved by reasoning alone, and a hint explains the next step whenever you are stuck.
What happens when I run out of hearts?
You can watch a short video to win back a heart and keep going, or start the board again.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Cat Puzzle plays offline. Ads and game settings load when you are online.
Do I need an account?
No. Your levels, stars, treats and streak are saved on your device, and uninstalling the game deletes them.
Is Cat Puzzle on iPhone?
Cat Puzzle is an Android game. There is no iPhone version yet.
What data does Cat Puzzle collect?
Your progress stays on your phone. Ads come from Google AdMob, and gameplay statistics and crash reports help us tune the puzzles and fix faults. The Cat Puzzle privacy policy has the details.
